Woman Who Threw Shoe At Hillary Clinton Has Bizarre History With Aurora Shooter
A woman accused of hurling a soccer cleat at former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton during a speech last week reportedly has a bizarre history with accused Aurora shooter James Holmes.
Alison Ernst, 36, of Phoenix, was released from Clark County Jail with a misdemeanor disorderly conduct summons after the incident during Clinton's speech for the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries on Thursday. Nearly two years prior to the shoe incident, Ernst appeared in a Colorado courtroom during one of Holmes' appearances, claiming she had evidence that he was innocent of the Aurora movie theatre shooting, which killed 12 and left 58 wounded in July 2012, the New York Daily News reports.
After Ernst was removed from the courtroom she filed a motion alleging that Holmes was "mind-controlled" by a ring of "worldwide crooks." The motion was later dismissed by a judge, the National Journal reports.
"Holmes is an innocent man. James Holmes must be released to me asap. This is a huge conspiracy," read Ernst's motion, which also alleged that a movie theatre chain owner was the culprit of the Aurora shooting and claimed he was part of a massive conspiracy led by a group that "want[s] to control the world through false flag attacks akin to George Orwell 1984 [sic]."
In another bizarre twist, Ernst later posted a preliminary injunction document to her personal website in which said she would seek a restraining order against Holmes, whom she claimed was possessing her mind.
“James enters my head like Dennis Quaid in ‘Innerspace’ and he zooms to my heart and plays with it and forces me to care for him,” the document read. “I seek a restraining order to stop Holmes from entering my mind through subliminal messaging and causing me to be obsessed with him on a daily basis.”

Frazier Glenn Cross, 73, was arrested Sunday after a shooting spree that killed a 14-year-old boy and his grandfather outside a popular Jewish community center, and woman visiting her mother at a nearby Jewish retirement home. [related tag="hate-crime" limit=5] Both facilities are in Overland Park, Kansas, an upscale suburb outside Kansas City, Missouri. It was a bitter irony noted by many in the area that none of the victims was Jewish. The boy and his grandfather were members of an area Methodist church and the woman attended a Catholic church. Cross was known by law enforcement and human rights groups as a former senior member of the white supremacist Ku Klux Klan movement, and someone who had made public comments against Jewish people before. "Yesterday's attack ... strikes at the core fundamental freedoms... of how our country was founded and what we live by every single day," said FBI agent Michael Kaste. "We've now determined that the motivation behind this was a hate crime. The acts that this person committed were the result of beliefs ... that he had." Both the Southern Poverty Law Center, a leading anti-hate group, and the Institute for Research and Education on Human Rights (IREHR) have tracked Cross, who also goes by the name Frazier Glenn Miller, for years. The groups say he was involved in creating an armed paramilitary organization in North Carolina 20 years ago. The Southern Poverty Law Center said Cross is a "raging anti-Semite" who has posted online rantings that include "No Jews, Just Right." And the IREHR said he idolizes Adolf Hitler. "His worship for Hitler and Hitlerism is real," said Leonard Zeskind, president of IREHR, in a statement issued Monday. U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder issued a statement Monday pledging federal help in the case. "These senseless acts of violence are all the more heartbreaking as they were perpetrated on the eve of the solemn occasion of Passover," Holder said. The shootings, which took place on the eve of the Jewish holiday of Passover, started around 1 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City . Law Enforcement: Suspected Jewish Center Gunman Went Around Background Checks
On April 14th law enforcement officials reported that Kansas Jewish Center shooting suspect Frazier Glenn Miller went around background checks to get his guns.Fox17Online.com reports that Miller purchased his guns from "a straw purchaser," which goes beyond the facts given in the police statement—buying a gun or guns secondhand from an individual is not the same as buying from a straw purchaser and it is completely legal. It has been legal since 1791.
On the other hand, a straw purchaser is someone who goes through background checks in order to buy guns for people who are not allowed to buy them: for people who could not pass a background check in their own name. This is highly illegal and could result in more charges being added to Miller's indictment if in fact he used the services of straw purchaser to get his guns.
Adam Lanza avoided background checks by stealing the guns he used to commit his heinous crime at Sandy Hook Elementary. But many other gunmen, including Army Spc. Ivan Lopez (Fort Hood), Nidal Hasan (Ft. Hood 2009), Karl Halverson Pierson (Arapahoe High School gunman), Alexis Aaron (DC Navy Yard gunman), Paul Anthony Ciancia (LAX gunman), and James Holmes (Aurora Theater gunman), went through a background check with no problem.
After arresting Miller at an elementary school near the Kansas Jewish Center, police report he shouted, "Heil Hilter!"

Holder Asks Congress for $15 Million, Claims Shootings on the Rise
On April 15th, Attorney General Eric Holder asked Congress to approve $15 million that can be used to prepare for shooting incidents, which he claims are increasing.According to The Hill, Holder made the request via a "weekly video message" posted to the Department of Justice website.
Besides asking Congress to okay the funding, Holder said: "As a nation, we must confront this alarming rise and all of its underlying causes--honestly, factually, and without regard for political consequence. We must deal with these incidents whenever they happen--but just as importantly, we must prevent them whenever we can."
Regarding the $15 million specifically, Holder said: "This critical funding would help the Justice Department ensure that America's police officers have the tools and guidance they need to effectively respond to active shooter incidents whenever and wherever they arise."
Holder suggested "active shooting situations" have been on the increase in the United States since 2009. But Northeastern University criminologist James Alan Fox contends his decades of study show otherwise.
Following the Aurora theater shooting and the attack at the Sikh temple in Wisconsin, Fox said the "one not-so-tiny flaw in all these theories for the increase in mass shootings" is "that mass shootings have not increased in number or in overall body count, at least not over the past several decades."
Moreover, in February 2014 Breitbart News reported that even with the heinous crime at Sandy Hook taken into account, Fox looked at schools specifically and said: "There is no pattern, there is no increase." He said numbers look elevated because of all the media attention given them.

What Reddit is doing to boost news capabilities

Reddit, majority owned by Conde Nast parent Advanced Publications, last month rolled out a new feature that lets users of the 9-year-old site post live updates, allowing them to report in real time. The live updates allow selected users, dubbed "reporters" by Reddit, to instantly stream unlimited posts during the course of an event such as the conflict in the Ukraine, an earthquake in Los Angeles, or a game played in real time, without having to refresh the page. Users vote on an entire thread rather than individual live posts. The community also places a high value on one's Reddit score determined by how active one is on the site.

Apollo Minerals and Robert Friedland's HPX to step-up exploration
Apollo Minerals (ASX:AON) has secured shareholder approval to proceed with a strategic alliance with High Power Exploration, owned by billionaire mining entrepreneur Robert Friedland, to find major Iron Oxide Copper Gold in the Gawler Craton, South Australia.
HPX will also make an initial equity investment of $1 million at $0.02 per share, giving it a 10.13% interest in Apollo.
This could increase to 19.9% if it exercises an option to invest a further $1.4 million at $0.024 per share.
Former Rio Tinto head of exploration Eric Finlayson will be appointed as HPX’s representative to Apollo’s board on completion of the transaction.
Preparation and planning for the first IP geophysical survey over the Bundi and Wirrida IOCG Targets has been completed and survey works will commence this week with a decision to drill expected within the first half of 2014.

Alliance Details*
Under the alliance, HPX can provide up to $3.4 million of funding to earn an 80% interest in Apollo’s South Australian licenses, under the joint venture to be known as the Commonwealth Hill Joint Venture.
It will apply its in-house geophysical tools, which can penetrate to great depths with high accuracy and has been successfully deployed in Australia, Africa and South America, as well as its expertise at the Bundi and Wirrida Prospects.
Apollo had in February 2014 identified numerous new iron oxide-copper-gold drill targets at Bundi, a gravity anomaly consistent with the dominant IOCG target that is several times larger than that of Oz Minerals' (ASX:OZL) Carrapateena Deposit.
Bundi shares striking similarities to major IOCG deposits in the area including the Prominent Hill, and BHP's behemoth Olympic Dam deposit.
An independent review of the Bundi Prospect by geophysicist Chris Anderson, who was instrumental in the discovery of Carrapateena, has demonstrated potential for a large IOCG system.
It will be the first time the HPX technology, which is believed to be ideally suited to the geological environment and surface conditions found at Commonwealth Hill, has been used in South Australia.
Apollo expects a rapid survey turnaround, to generate targets for follow up drilling.
The transaction with HPX does not affect Apollo’s existing joint venture arrangements, including its rights to earn a 75% interest in the adjacent Eaglehawk JV and the Aurora-Tank JV.

Alliance Details*
Under the alliance, HPX can provide up to $3.4 million of funding to earn an 80% interest in Apollo’s South Australian licenses, under the joint venture to be known as the Commonwealth Hill Joint Venture.
It will apply its in-house geophysical tools, which can penetrate to great depths with high accuracy and has been successfully deployed in Australia, Africa and South America, as well as its expertise at the Bundi and Wirrida Prospects.
Apollo had in February 2014 identified numerous new iron oxide-copper-gold drill targets at Bundi, a gravity anomaly consistent with the dominant IOCG target that is several times larger than that of Oz Minerals' (ASX:OZL) Carrapateena Deposit.
Bundi shares striking similarities to major IOCG deposits in the area including the Prominent Hill, and BHP's behemoth Olympic Dam deposit.
An independent review of the Bundi Prospect by geophysicist Chris Anderson, who was instrumental in the discovery of Carrapateena, has demonstrated potential for a large IOCG system.
It will be the first time the HPX technology, which is believed to be ideally suited to the geological environment and surface conditions found at Commonwealth Hill, has been used in South Australia.
Apollo expects a rapid survey turnaround, to generate targets for follow up drilling.
The transaction with HPX does not affect Apollo’s existing joint venture arrangements, including its rights to earn a 75% interest in the adjacent Eaglehawk JV and the Aurora-Tank JV.
