NASA releases glorious 4K footage of Earth as seen from the ISS

NASA is on fire: Shortly after releasing beautiful, high resolution footage of Aurora Borealis, the agency posted a 4K video of Earth, as seen from the International Space Station.

Of course, to enjoy the video in all its glory, you should watch it on a 4K-capable monitor, and switch the video quality setting to "2160p 4K."

The footage was taken by the Epic Dragon camera by RED, brought to the ISS in October 2014. The camera is actually capable of taking 6K videos — that's 6,144 x 3,160 pixels — at 100 frames per second. We're not sure whether NASA took any footage at that resolution, but YouTube doesn't support it, and you likely don't have a monitor that can display it, so 4K (4,096 x 2,160 pixels) will have to do for now. For the third consecutive year, London Bay Homes has sold nearly all model homes introduced at the start of season in Mediterra, Naples’ nine-time Community of the Year. Totaling more than $11 million, the five homes include single-family estate and luxury maintenance-free villa models that sold shortly before or upon completion.

Naples, Florida (PRWEB) April 19, 2016

For the third consecutive year, London Bay Homes has sold nearly all model homes introduced at the start of season in Mediterra, Naples’ nine-time Community of the Year.

Totaling more than $11 million, the five homes include single-family estate and luxury maintenance-free villa models that sold shortly before or upon completion, according to Mark Wilson, president and CEO of London Bay Homes.

“Buying a model home has become a popular option,” Wilson said. “They’re beautifully decorated, have stunning pools, spas and large outdoor living areas, and are ideal for clients interested in moving in immediately or buying on leaseback to move in at a later date.”

The models sold included three villas in the European-inspired Lucarno neighborhood: the four-bedroom Capriano, recognized by the Collier Building Industry Association for its pool design and floor plan; the Belita, awarded Overall Excellence in Construction and Design in the $2 million to $2.5 million category during the CBIA’s 2016 Parade of Homes; and the three-bedroom Eloro, with picturesque backyard lakefront views. The models – currently open for viewing – were purchased on leaseback, providing buyers with the opportunity to lock in the home at today’s price but move in at a later date.

A fourth villa, the three-bedroom Bettina, and a single-family estate, the Delfina, also sold this season.

“We committed last summer to building more models for season to meet the increase in interest we’ve been seeing in the community,” Wilson said. “We’ve had consecutive month-over-month increases in traffic to the Mediterra sales center for the last three months, with March topping at a 30 percent increase over this time last year. We’ve escalated our model building program at Mediterra and currently have nine new models underway and five open for viewing.”

The three-bedroom, semi-furnished Angelica model features a color palette of vibrant burnt-orange and crimson throughout its 2,810 square feet. The home is priced at $1,330,000.

London Bay Homes’ Cordoba model also is available for viewing. The two-story Cordoba offers three bedrooms, two full-sized kitchens, and rustic Italian architectural and interior design. The fully furnished home, located in Cortile, is priced at $3.3 million.

The new furnished and unfurnished villa and estate models underway will showcase a variety of floor plans and feature coastal-inspired luxury interior and architectural designs. The models will offer three and four bedrooms, one- and two-story designs and overlook rolling golf course fairways, sparkling lakes and lush nature preserves in Mediterra.

Amy Nease, a sales executive with Mediterra Realty, has worked with recent model home buyers. Many, she said, recognize the urgency of buying in Mediterra and view the model homes as an ideal option. “Visitors walk into a model home and everything is already done,” she said. “They love the furniture and the fresh direction of the interior design, and they get to skip the construction process and go straight to owning a brand-new home.”

Among the new models currently under construction are two additional Capriano floor plans: one in Lucarno and the second in Cortile, a neighborhood of maintenance-free estate and villa homes.

London Bay Homes is introducing its new Sardinia and Catalina floor plans as models in Cortile. A two-story version of the popular Isabella is scheduled for completion in April 2016 in the sold-out Serata neighborhood.

Also under construction are four luxury maintenance-free villa homes in Cabreo, including two Bettina and two Clara models.

All London Bay model homes and private residences demonstrate the builder’s commitment to Private Label Living, a promise of quality, luxury, attention to detail and personal expression.

Each home is built using the latest information, products and technology available in building science, including the BEP Blue Barrier system that protects against mold issues and structural damage from moisture intrusion.

A leader in the Naples luxury home market for 25 years, London Bay Homes was one of only two companies named America’s Best Builder in 2008 by Builder magazine.

The company and its affiliates manage all new home sales and marketing for Mediterra, internationally lauded as a Distinguished Emerald Club and currently ranked among the top 10 communities worldwide by BestRetirementDestinations.com.

The 1,700-acre community offers an array of lifestyle amenities, including The Club at Mediterra, ranked as one of the top private clubs in the world by BoardRoom magazine. The club features two world-class Fazio-designed courses and the private 10,000-square-foot Beach Club on the Gulf of Mexico, featuring an elevated swimming pool, casual dining with a full bar, and valet service for beach chairs, umbrellas, and beverage and food menus.

Mediterra’s onsite amenities include themed neighborhood parks; eight miles of walking and jogging trails; and a fitness complex with tennis and bocce courts, a pool and spa services.

Additional home designs in Mediterra – a 2013 Aurora Award winner for Best Residential Development in the Southeast U.S. – include single-family estate homes and single-family maintenance-free villas priced from $1 million to more than $7 million.
