Glen D. Ode, age 89, of Oswego, IL died Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born April 10, 1923 in Oswego, IL the son of the late William C. and Anna Louise nee Friebele Ode.
He served his country honorably with the US Army during World War II and was a lifetime member of the Oswego American Legion Post #675. He was a faithful member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Oswego, IL.
Prior to his retirement in1987 he was employed as a machine repairman at Gordon’s Distillery in Plainfield, IL for over 20 years.
He is survived by his wife Gladys, (whom he married on January 27, 1942 in St Charles, MO), a daughter Glenda (Ervin) Tifrea of Aurora, IL; four grandchildren Kim (Chuck) Day of Montgomery, IL, Kathi (John) McDonagh of Bryan, OH, Julie (Rob) Mueller of Yorkville, IL, Tim (Petra) Krings, Jr. of Aurora, IL, twelve great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son Gregory Ode, five sisters and five brothers.
Visitation will take place on Friday, March 15, 2013 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 1801 Douglas Rd Oswego, IL. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home by Rev Phil Sheets. Burial will take place at the Oswego Cemetery.
