Joel Gonzales, 45, of Montgomery, IL, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013 due to complications from end stage liver disease. He was born April 9, 1968 in Aurora, IL, the son of Jose F. and Maria N. Gonzales. Joel attended East Aurora High School. He worked for the Kane County Clerk’s office, where he enjoyed being the Alternative Language Coordinator.
Joel was a true and real friend. He was a stand-up guy that you could depend on to help you when you needed him. He loved the White Sox and reveled in their World Series Championship in 2005, as well as the Blackhawks Stanley Cup win in 2010. He was also an avid fan of the Bulls and Bears. Joel enjoyed cooking and made the best salsa ever. But most of all and importantly, Joel loved and was very proud of his children.
Joel is survived by his beloved wife Michelle of Montgomery, IL, his beautiful and loving children, Jocelyn and Nicolas Gonzales both of Montgomery, IL. He is also survived by his parents, brothers, Joe Gonzales, Jr. of Aurora, IL, Richard (Michelle) Gonzales of Crystal Lake, IL, Rolando (Michele) Gonzales of Oak Park, IL, Robert (Missy) Gonzales of Oswego, IL, Rene (Maggie) Gonzales of Naperville, IL, sisters Olga Gonzales of Aurora, IL, Sandy (Servando) Ramos of Aurora, IL, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, May 24, 2013 at the Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 1801 S. Douglas Rd., Oswego, IL 60543.
