A 17-year-old Solon teen was standing at the end of his driveway texting when a man ran up and stole his cell phone from his hand, according to Solon Police.
The incident happened on March 11 at about 6:23 p.m. on Aurora Road near the east border of Solon.
The teen said that the man who jogged up to him and took his phone then ran and jumped in a silver car parked near Portage Street and drove away East on Aurora Road.
The victim described the thief as a black male who was about 20 years old and wearing a black sweat shirt.
There has been a crime trend recently called "Apple Picking" in which thieves run up to unsuspecting phone users and steal their Apple iPhones from their hands. Reported by Patch 20 hours ago.
