American Sentinel University will join the nation to commemorate the U.S. Constitution on Constitution Day, which is celebrated on Sept. 17, by initiating a weeklong celebration Sept. 17–23 that includes a student essay contest and a Constitution Week Reflection Wall.
In honor of Constitution Day, American Sentinel students, faculty and staff will write essays, make videos, develop podcasts and presentations about how the Constitutional freedoms they enjoy have enabled them to be civically engaged in their daily lives that will be posted on their Constitution Week Reflection Wall.
“The weeklong observance is the perfect time to read and study our country’s greatest document which is the safeguard of our American liberties,” says Kurt Linberg, Ph.D., provost at American Sentinel University. “We encourage all our students, faculty and staff to reflect on our heritage and freedom by coming together to celebrate our great country by sharing their stories on our Reflection Wall.”
Constitution Day (formerly Citizenship Day) commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787. It is an American federal observance that recognizes the adoption of the United States Constitution and those who have become U.S. citizens.
