Syracuse, New York (PRWEB) July 02, 2014

ProLiteracy is proud to announce the award of more than $100,000 in National Book Fund grants to 65 community-based programs around the nation in support of adult literacy and basic education.

“At ProLiteracy, we are passionate about our mission of providing programs with the resources and materials they need to help adults learn to read, write, and do basic math,” says Michele Diecuch, senior membership and program manager. “Every year, we receive a number of compelling, high-quality applicants. We are pleased to be able to offer grants to nearly two-thirds of the applicants we receive.”

Since its inception in 1995, ProLiteracy’s National Book has awarded more than $2.9 million in grants, helping more than 305,000 adults, youth, and children improve their reading skills as a result.

The next National Book Fund application process will begin in March 2015.
