The drama, now at Berkeley's Aurora Theatre Company, examines the lives of people - employees at a big-box store - whom we don't often see onstage. Watching people negotiate these strict belief systems with the world at large is endlessly fascinating to me. Hunter's first job was at a Walmart in his hometown of Moscow, Idaho, and his observations in the break room there - he says it almost felt like a sanctuary - have informed "A Bright New Boise," which takes place either in the store's break room or parking lot.
