Pro Mach Standardizing on PackML – More Than a Dozen Machines on Display at Pack Expo Las Vegas Are PackML Compliant

Show attendees are encouraged to visit the Axon, Currie, Edson, Federal, ID Technology, KLEENLine, LSI, and Matrix booths in the Central Hall for demos and discussions on the tangible benefits available today from the Pro Mach implementation of the PackML standard.

Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) September 06, 2013

In what Pro Mach believes to be the biggest display of Packaging Machine Language (PackML) implementations by a single company at Pack Expo 2013 in Las Vegas, September 23-25, more than a dozen machines from eight Pro Mach brands will feature PackML compliant machines.

“Pro Mach, through its engineering council consisting of thought leaders from all Pro Mach brands, has been assessing how PackML not only contributes to, but also accelerates new product innovation,” said Director, Corporate Business Collaboration, Mark Ruberg. “Each of the more than a dozen implementations of PackML at Pack Expo demonstrates best-in-class product innovation, shorter time to market, faster installation and integration, easier operation and support, and consistent data integration both horizontally and vertically.”

Ruberg said that in the next 12 to 18 months he expects to see PackML based innovative products across all Pro Mach brands. In terms of the products on display at Pack Expo 2013, he gave these examples to show the breadth and diversity of the Pro Mach PackML implementations.

The Axon (Booth C-2314) Aurora Wide shrink sleeve applicator is engineered to apply lower gauge films of up to 400 mm in Layflat Width, a typical range for broad containers and multipacks. This innovative, mandrel-style applicator is equipped with everything that the Aurora brand stands for: Allen Bradley controls, servo automation, PackML programming, plug-n-play functionality for hassle-free upgradeability and customization; plus other unique features that positions it as the industry benchmark.

The Currie by Brenton (Booth C-1920) hydraulic free, servo-driven palletizer, the high level infeed HLP, incorporates advanced servo, safety, and touchscreen controls to deliver unparalleled product handling and ease of operation. The modular designed HLP accommodates a wide range of plant configurations and is ideal for packaging operations requiring speeds from 30 to more than 100 cases per minute. The HLP can serve single or multiple packaging lines, nearby or remotely located.

The Edson (Booth C-2020) SR3600sa case packer with SC-SS Servo Cassette Collator features Edson’s Servo Adjust™ rapid changeover system and the complete InteleSuite package of intelligent machine management and productivity tools. Edson’s SR3600sa combines the latest servo technology and unique mechanical assemblies to deliver high-performance, high-speed packing for large cases and trays at speeds up to 22 cases per minute. The SR3600sa also features new integration technology offered by Pro Mach from Rockwell Automation called RAPID Line Integration that uses PackML to enable easier linkage between machines.

The Federal (Booth C-2320) GWSS2/12.4 filler and capper is designed and rated for wash down environments and is certified to the 3-A sanitary standard. This compact 12 filling valve/four capping station unit fills and caps containers ranging in size from 0.2 to 4 liters at a rate of up to 120 units per minute. The GWSS2/12.4 is equipped with a sanitary product in-feed valve with positioner and level control package that ensures sanitary handling and exceptional accuracy for low waste.

The Matrix (Booth C-2221) Metis is a unique vertical form-fill-seal pillow-bag bagging machine that can operate in continuous or intermittent motion – from one to up to 180 bags per minute – depending on line conditions. Flexibility in units per minute ensures optimum product flow and quality packaging through every hour of operation. This breakthrough is based on some of the most advanced design engineering and motion control technology implemented to date by Matrix.

“One of the essential qualities that exemplify Pro Mach is that we bring in exceptional companies and provide the tools, processes, and passion to ensure that they become even more capable,” said Mark Anderson, President and CEO, Pro Mach. “The engineering council and its focus on PackML is one such example.

“PackML is an important development for the packaging industry and I hope that every Pack Expo attendee interested in PackML will stop by at least one of these booths in the Central Hall – Axon, Currie, Edson, Federal, ID Technology, KLEENLine, LSI, or Matrix – to discuss what our people see in terms of actual implementation and overall benefits. Viewing multiple Pro Mach booths will demonstrate the similarities in HMI layout and machine operation that result from implementing the PackML standard.”
