Dem Guide Cites 'Trayvon Martin Killing' as Example to Push Gun Control

A recently uncovered Democrat anti-gun "guide" titled "Preventing Gun Violence Through Effective Messaging" urges politicians to use high profile gun incidents--like the "Trayvon Martin killing"--to cower pro-gun politicians and silence the NRA.

The guide was compiled before the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary; the Washington Examiner reports it is "likely" it provided the blueprint for the gun control push that followed that heinous crime.

For example, the guide says "the most powerful time to communicate is when concern and emotions are running at their peak." This gives context to the blitz of Democrat-sponsored gun control proposals that poured in while the nation was still grieving in the days after the crime at Sandy Hook took place.

According to the anti-gun guide:

A high-profile gun violence incident temporarily draws more people into the conversation about gun violence: incidents including Columbine, Virginia Tech, Tucson, the Trayvon Martin killing, Aurora, and Oak Creek. When an incident such as these attracts sustained media attention, it creates a unique climate for our communications efforts.

"Preventing Gun Violence Through Effective Messaging" was crafted by "three Democrat firms led by the polling and research outfit Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research." Once created, it was adopted as a blueprint for fulfilling gun control aspirations.

It it important to note that this is the same method that was successfully used to push Obamacare.

Breitbart News reported that in 2007, Robert Creamer, the imprisoned leader of Citizen Action/Illinois, wrote, Listen to Your Mother: Stand up Straight! How Progressives Can Win. The book provided talking points for wearing down the opposition to universal healthcare.

Obama strategist  David Axelrod and other Democrats embraced it, and three short years later--in March 2010--Obamacare was shoved onto the American people.

Dr. Landon Blatter, DDS, Dr. Kyle J. Ricks, DDS and Team to Provide Dental Care for Patients in New Facility

Aurora, CO (PRWEB) August 11, 2013

Aurora Family Dentistry in Aurora, CO is relocating to 13700 East Colfax Ave. Unit M, Aurora, CO 80011. The new office, opening in October, will feature four treatment rooms in 1800 square feet of space and will include new dental chairs, new equipment and a new 3D panoramic x-ray machine. This new equipment and larger office will help Dr. Landon Blatter, DDS, Dr. Kyle J. Ricks, DDS and their staff continue to provide patients with comprehensive dental services, from minimally invasive dentistry to restoration and cosmetic dentistry.

The old Aurora Family Dentistry office was acquired from Dr. Kenneth Hammon in July 2008. Aurora Family Dentistry quickly established itself as one of the leading dental offices in the area through its use of state-of-the-art dental technologies, its practice of minimally invasive dentistry and the kindness, compassion and gentleness of Dr. Blatter, Dr. Ricks and the Aurora Family Dentistry staff.

The new Aurora Family Dentistry office will feature a number of improvements aimed at providing patients with best possible dental care possible. Dr. Blatter stated, "We are excited about our new location. It will help our patients' experience be everything they expect from a 21st century dental office."

Along with the state-of-the-art technology used at their old location such as digital x-rays, intra-oral cameras, laser cavity detectors, lasers for periodontal therapy and cold sore treatments, VELscopes for oral cancer scans, and same-day-crown machines, the new Aurora Family Dentistry office will include a 3D panoramic x-ray machine. The new X-ray machine allows Dr. Blatter and Dr. Ricks spot tooth decay earlier and easier than before. More importantly, this new technology allows diagnosis without the need to place anything in the patient’s mouth, making the x-ray process much more comfortable for patients. In addition, the new office offers more space, a more visible and convenient location, new dental equipment and new dental chairs.

Dr. Blatter added, "Embracing effective dental technology is very important to us at Rocky Mountain Dental Partners. We feel it is by the implementation of technology that we can help all of us save our teeth for a lifetime. We don't have to do dentistry the same way we did in the 80s. In fact, we shouldn't."

Dr. Blatter received his dental degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and was selected by his fellow Colorado dentists as 5280 MAGAZINE's "2009, 2010, and 2011 Top Dentist of Colorado.” Dr. Blatter is an expert in implant, cosmetic, restorative and family dentistry and performs comprehensive treatment for the entire family in his Aspen Springs Dental and Aurora Family Dentistry practices.

Rolith, Inc. Demonstrates Superior Performance of ITO-Alternative Transparent Metal Grid Electrodes Fabricated Using Proprietary Nanolithography Technology

Rolith, Inc., a leader in developing advanced nanostructured devices, today announces the successful demonstration of Transparent Metal Grid Electrode technology based on its disruptive nanolithography method (Rolling Mask Lithography – RML TM).

Pleasanton, CA (PRWEB) August 12, 2013

Rolith, Inc., a leader in developing advanced nanostructured devices, today announces the successful demonstration of Transparent Grid Electrode technology based on its disruptive nanolithography method (Rolling Mask Lithography - RML (TM)).

We seen an explosive growth of touch screen displays in consumer electronics market. ITO (Indium Titanium Oxide) material is a standard solution for transparent electrodes so far. Apart from a consideration cost and limited supply of this material, it has additional problems: high reflectance of this material reduces contrast ratio, optical properties degrade rapidly below 50 Ohm / , which limits the size of display produced using ITO without degradation of performance.

The only viable alternative to ITO (and the only solution for large touchscreen displays) is a metal wire grid. The requirement for a metal wire grid to be invisible to the human eye means that width of the wire should be less than 2 micron. Moreover, narrow wires are helpful to fight Moire effects, which are caused by superposition of the metal wire grid and the pixel structure of a display.

Rolith, Inc. has used its proprietary nanolithography technology called Rolling Mask Lithography (RML (TM)) for fabrication of transparent metal wire grid electrodes on large areas of substrate materials. RML is based on near-field continuous optical lithography, which is implemented using cylindrical phase masks.

Transparent metal electrodes on glass substrates were fabricated in the form of sub-micron width nanowires, lithographically placed in a regular 2-dimensional grid pattern with a period of tens of microns, and thickness of a few hundreds of nanometers. Such metal structure is evaluated as completely invisible to the human eye, highly transparent (greater than 94% transmission) with a very low haze (about 2%) and low resistivity (
Gen-2 RML tool capable of patterning substrates up to 1 meter long and built earlier this year has been used to demonstrate this technology.

“Rolith has launched Transparent Metal Grid Electrodes application development just few months ago, and we are very excited with the extraordinary results already achieved. We believe RML (TM) technology will enable high quality cost effective touch screen sensors for mobile devices and large format displays, monitors and TVs. Currently Rolith is negotiating partnerships with a few touch screen display manufacturers and we hope to move fast with commercialization of our technology next year. Our roadmap also calls for expansion into OLED lighting and flexible substrates in 2014-2015”, said Dr Boris Kobrin, founder and CEO, Rolith. He adds: “Rolith will be presenting its breakthrough technology at the upcoming International Touch Panel and Optical Film Exhibition (“Touch Taiwan 2013”), booth 126, and Printed Electronics USA 2013, booth AA18”

ABOUT ROLITH, INC:

Rolith, Inc. is developing advanced nanostructured products for consumer electronics, solar and green building markets using a proprietary nanolithography technology. Area veterans now receive help with their dental needs through the “Share a Smile with a Vet” program.

Aurora, CO (PRWEB) August 12, 2013

Concorde Career College’s Aurora campus is pleased to announce their “Share a Smile with a Vet” program. Concorde is a private post-secondary educational institution that trains healthcare professionals and along with providing quality education, they work hard to give back to area communities. It was brought to Concorde’s attention that many veterans are often not eligible for dental care through the VA. Aurora’s “Share a Smile with a Vet” program addresses the overwhelming need for uninsured veterans to receive access to affordable dental care.

The pilot program for “Share a Smile with a Vet” was started by the Concorde Dental Hygiene program in Kansas City to meet the dental needs of area veterans and has now extended into Aurora to address similar needs. The program allows Concorde’s Dental Hygiene students to provide dental care for these individuals and their immediate family members until they can obtain employment and receive dental care through their employer.

The program provides veterans with many free dental services for a year, along with the same services for immediate family members at just $5.00 per service.

Dental services include:

·     Comprehensive exam by a dentist
·     Dental cleanings
·     X-rays
·     Periodontal cleaning (deep cleanings)
·     Sports guards
·     Sealants
·     Fluoride treatments

All work will be performed by Dental Hygiene students under the close supervision of a dentist and the faculty at the Aurora campus located at 111 N. Havana Street, Aurora, CO 80010; 303.861.1151; http://www.concorde.edu/.

Concorde Career Colleges, Inc. has been training medical professionals for nearly 50 years. Concorde has 16 campuses in 8 states and offers 100% healthcare education and training.

In addition to the Dental Hygiene (AAS) program, the campus also offers career training in Medical Assistant, Dental Assistant, Medical Office Administration, Surgical Technology, Respiratory Therapy (AAS), Practical Nursing, Nursing (AAS), Radiologic Technology (AAS) and Physical Therapist Assistant (AAS).

At Least 2 Dead, 44 Missing As Typhoon Batters Philippines

MANILA, Philippines -- A powerful typhoon battered the northern Philippines on Monday, toppling power lines and dumping heavy rain across cities and food-growing plains. The storm left at least two people dead and 44 missing.

Typhoon Utor, described as the strongest globally this year, slammed ashore in mountainous eastern Aurora province with sustained winds of 175 kilometers (109 miles) per hour and gusts of up to 210 kph (130 mph).

Footage from ABS-CBN TV network showed a woman swept away by a raging river in neighboring Isabela province. The woman waved her hands for help as she struggled to hang on to debris while being buffeted by huge waves in the muddy waters. It was not known what happened to her.

"She has not been found, so she is missing," said Norma Talosig, a regional civil defense director. She said the woman lived alone in a low-lying area and had refused to be evacuated.

Talosig said that in northern Nueva Vizcaya province, a 53-year-old farmer drowned while trying to rescue his water buffalo from a swift-moving flood. The animal survived.

In mountainous Benguet province, a 22-year-old man died on the way to a hospital after he was pulled from a landslide that hit a canal he was clearing, said regional civil defense official Andrew Alex Uy.

The typhoon triggered waves of up to 2.5 meters (eight feet) and left scores of fishermen missing.

In northern Pangasinan province, 25 fishermen on three boats failed to return home, said provincial police spokesman Senior Inspector Ryan Manongdo.

Eighteen other fishermen from the eastern provinces of Catanduanes and Camarines Norte also were unaccounted for. Authorities were hoping they took shelter in coves and nearby islands, said Office of Civil Defense regional director Bernardo Alejandro IV.

"I hope they're just waiting for the typhoon to pass and will show up as soon as the weather clears," he said. A higher number of missing had been reported earlier, but some of the fishermen have returned home.

As of late Monday, Utor picked up speed as it continued to move away from the country. Government forecaster Joey Figuracion said the typhoon was 230 kilometers (140 miles) northwest of northern Ilocos Sur province's coast, and moving to the northwest.

It was forecast to reach southern China on Wednesday.

Office of Civil Defense Administrator Eduardo del Rosario said 1,895 people from three regions had to be evacuated to shelters, with 673 houses damaged.

Utor, the Marshellese word for a squall line, was the 12th of about 20 storms and typhoons expected to lash the Philippines this year.
