Esteemed Panel of Industry Judges Select This Year’s Top Products for Baby and Children
MOUNT LAUREL, NJ (PRWEB) May 02, 2017
From self-installing car seats to high-tech apps and interactive toys to important safety gear, the most innovative products of 2017 will offer parents ground-breaking new ways to safeguard and care for baby, while making their lives easier.
These products and more are among those announced today by the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA) as finalists for the 2017 Innovation Awards Competition, sponsored by BabyCenter. More than 100 cutting edge products were entered, and a panel of notable members of the juvenile products industry has selected 46 finalists in nine categories.
"Products are always improving. That's just good business. But the Innovation Awards have a higher standard, identifying and celebrating products with the potential to move their category in truly fresh and exciting ways," commented judging panelist, Eric Messinger, Editor for New York Family Magazine/Family Media. "I saw a lot of really good products this year, and it was fun to try to identify the ones that seemed the most innovative in ways that consumers would appreciate."

The finalists are now entered into the JPMA Parent’s Pick Awards, where parents nationwide can get a sneak peek at the newest baby gear hitting the market and vote for their favorite “must-have” product. The voting is now open and runs until May 13 via babysafetyzone.org.
The final round of judging takes place on Tuesday, May 9 in Anaheim during the JPMA Baby Show. JPMA will award a top winner in each of the nine categories, along with an award for, “Best In Show,” during a special announcement on Wednesday, May 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the Anaheim Convention Center. Media are encouraged to attend.
The Innovation Awards Competition started in 1989 as the Most Innovative Product Contest and has evolved through the years to become a highly recognized competition. It was officially renamed the “Show Off” Product Competition in 1992, however in 2003, JPMA decided the contest should be called the “Innovation Awards” to more accurately represent the focus on innovation.
