The latest “Extreme Weight Loss” video blog from the CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center focuses on Hannah’s “no excuse zone”

Hannah came into this new episode knowing that her excessive weight was threatening her dream of becoming a mother. The young wife and successful career woman was so motivated to make a change that even a broken foot couldn't slow her down.

Aurora, COLO (PRWEB) September 10, 2015

Hannah (Austin, TX) came into the latest episode of “Extreme Weight Loss” Season 5 weighing 310 pounds and knowing that her excessive weight was threatening her dream of becoming a mother. The young wife and successful career woman was so motivated to make a change, that even a broken foot didn’t get in her way.

Holly Wyatt, MD, the TV show’s medical director, credits Hannah’s weight loss success to her determination to live in the “no excuse zone”. Wyatt says the first thing she hears from her clients at the University of Colorado Anschutz Health and Wellness Center is all the things they can’t do, all their excuses.

“It’s such a waste of their energy,” Wyatt said. “No excuses, no regrets. That’s the direction you want to go. Concentrate on what you can do, instead of what you can’t. That’s often the key to weight loss transformation success and Hannah understood that.”

Every episode of the TV show begins with a 90-day boot camp at the CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colo. where Wyatt is associate director. She is affectionately known as “Dr. Holly” to the show’s cast members and her patients.

Dr. Holly’s weekly video blogs offer fans her insight about the latest episode plus advice on how to begin, or continue, their own weight loss transformation journeys.

Hannah’s episode was the season finale and Dr. Holly says it was the perfect way to wrap things up. When Hannah broke her foot and couldn’t walk for six weeks, she found other ways to stay active. She didn’t let the injury stand in her way and become a barrier to her success. She found ways to work around the unexpected challenges.

“I’m sad this is the final episode,” said Wyatt, “but, what a great finish. Hannah just refused to let that broken foot stop her. She worked out on the arm bike and wore out our track pushing herself around on that scooter. She couldn’t change the fact that she got injured but she didn’t have to allow it to be an excuse.”

Watch Dr. Holly as she challenges us to spend our energy concentrating on what we CAN do instead of what we can’t and suggests ways we can live in our own “no excuse zone”.

Dr. Holly’s advice:·     Identify the possible barriers to your success
·     Spend your energy concentrating on ways to get past those challenges
·     Make a list of the things you will do to get around the barriers
·     Focus on what you ARE doing, the things you can do and not on the excuses
·     Create your own “no excuse zone”
·     Go to my Dr. Holly Facebook page, tell me about your barriers and your new strategies to overcome them
·     When you need extra support and the excuses seem to be winning, my online Dr. Holly Facebook community will be there to help you live in the “no excuse zone”

Although the season’s over for the TV show, Dr. Holly will continue posting video blogs on her Facebook page. She encourages weight loss seekers to look for the posts and to seek advice from others visiting the page who are experiencing a similar weight loss transformation journey.

Dr. Holly’s participation in the TV show inspired her to create the University of Colorado Anschutz Health and Wellness Center’s first destination weight loss program. The weeklong Extreme Weight Loss: Destination Boot Camp is designed to provide participants with the tools they need to complete their own successful weight loss transformations— without the TV cameras! Limited space is available in upcoming boot camps and weight loss seekers are encouraged to learn more and register now. 2016 boot camps are already registering.

The University of Colorado Anschutz Health and Wellness Center offers some of the country’s most advanced research and science-based expertise, focusing on a comprehensive weight loss and weight management approach, including fitness, nutrition and wellness services.
