The next episode of “Extreme Weight Loss” Season Four explores guilt and personal forgiveness, focusing on a man from St. Louis, Mo. who felt responsible for his siblings’ deaths.

Featuring a unique, non-competitive approach to weight loss transformations, “Extreme Weight Loss” airs TUESDAY, JULY 8 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET/PT) on the ABC Television Network.

As a child, David often served as caretaker of his younger brothers and sister while his parents were at work. While he was gone, one of his two younger brothers broke into their father's gun cabinet and accidentally killed David's other brother. Mere weeks later, David fell asleep before giving his epileptic sister her medication and she died of a seizure in her sleep. Unable to deal with the guilt from their deaths, David became an excessive eater, eventually reaching 413 pounds. This episode documents David's yearlong physical and emotional transformation.

New in Season Four, each “Extreme Weight Loss” participant spends the first 90 days of his or her weight loss journey at the University of Colorado Anschutz Health and Wellness Center (AHWC) in Aurora, CO. Holly Wyatt, MD, medical director for the AHWC, also serves as medical director for the television program and is seen on the show each week helping participants safely lose up to half of their body weight.

Toronto, Canada (PRWEB) July 03, 2014

Cedar Wood Structures Inc. (http://www.CedarWoodStructures.ca), the Greater Toronto Area’s leading provider of custom outdoor living structures, custom cabanas, and residential renovation and condominium improvements, is announcing its top landscaping ideas to provide homeowners with potential concepts that could elevate a backyard’s aesthetic.

“Sometimes the problem isn’t that homeowners don’t want to upgrade the look of their backyard; it’s that they don’t know what to do,” says Val Dumitriu, owner of Cedar Wood Structures Inc. “That’s why we’ve come up with a few suggestions that hopefully gives homeowners some ideas regarding what they can do with their own backyards.”

Dumitriu explains that simple landscaping projects can sometimes have a definite impact. One relatively simple landscaping idea homeowners can implement is to make an entrance. Creating a clear, cleverly decorated walkway to the backyard is both functional and visually appealing, with stone usually being a good choice.

“Another simple landscaping venture would be to incorporate mixed greenery, thereby adding colour,” he adds. “The overall amount of colour is, of course, up to the homeowner, but some colour variations are certainly suggested to give the yard some personality.”

For more courageous homeowners, Dumitriu suggests installing a custom pool cabana and jazzing it up with an outdoor bar enclosure. Custom pool cabanas in Toronto in particular are becoming more popular, as homeowners want to spend as much time outside as possible during what is a short summer season.

"And if homeowners really want to take their backyard to the next level, then a custom pool cabana is the way to go,” Dumitriu concludes. “Adding an outdoor bar enclosure to go along with the pool cabana means homeowners can invite friends over and have a good time without ever leaving home.”

Cedar Wood Structures Inc. specializes in designing, building, and delivering quality custom pool cabanas, gazebos, garden sheds, studios, outdoor bars and kitchens, pergolas and trellises, custom decks, and other outdoor living structures. Cedar Wood Structures Inc. also specializes in residential renovation, condominium improvements, and general contracting. With over 20 years of construction experience, company owner/operator Val Dumitriu holds a master’s degree in civil engineering and is a certified building inspector. Cedar Wood Structures Inc. serves the Greater Toronto Area, including Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon, Vaughan, Markham, Newmarket, Aurora, Oakville, Burlington, Milton, Richmond Hill, Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, and Oshawa. Sure-Seal Pavement, the GTA’s Leading Pavement Maintenance Contractor, Warns Extreme Weather, Including Flooding, Can Severely Damage Asphalt

0

Sure-Seal Pavement Maintenance Inc. (http://www.SureSealPavement.com), the Greater Toronto Area’s leading pavement maintenance and repair company, is warning that extreme weather conditions, including the recent flooding rains, can severely damage asphalt surfaces.

Toronto, Canada (PRWEB) July 07, 2014

Sure-Seal Pavement Maintenance Inc. (http://www.SureSealPavement.com), the Greater Toronto Area’s leading pavement maintenance and repair company, is warning that extreme weather conditions, including the recent flooding rains, can severely damage asphalt surfaces.

On June 25, localized thunderstorms wreaked havoc in Toronto as torrential rained caused flooding. Some parts of the GTA saw more than 70 millimetres of rain in less than a few hours, forcing road, highway, subway, and Go Transit closures. The heavy rain also flooded numerous underpasses, city streets, and parking lots. (Source: Bagley, A., “Flooding rains shut down major Toronto highway,” The Weather Network web site, June 26, 2014; http://www.theweathernetwork.com/news/articles/flooding-rains-shut-down-major-toronto-highway/30308/.)

“It surprises people sometimes to know that pavement needs to be cared for in the same way our lawns, vehicles, and homes are. Pavement that is not cared for can get damaged and be a hazard to both vehicles and pedestrians,” says Lance Bradshaw, president and CEO of Sure-Seal Pavement Maintenance Inc. “While regular wear and tear can break down pavement, extreme weather conditions can damage it at a much faster rate.”

Bradshaw explains that extreme weather damage, including flooding, can break down and weaken the surface of the pavement. In the case of flooding, excess water can be absorbed into the pavement, which can lead to cracks and swelling. Parking lots that are paved incorrectly or damaged can lead to poor drainage; this can cause pools of standing water, which can cause a breakdown in the surface of the pavement and allow contaminants in.

The extreme temperature changes in the GTA, he continues, can also cause the ground to expand and contract, causing pavement to crack. Further, the sealant on top of a driveway or parking lot that acts as a barrier against the elements can break down from the hot summer sun.

“Temperate changes and flooding help usher in the deterioration process; whether it’s cracked or buckling, damaged pavement should not be ignored,” Bradshaw concludes. “To prevent further water damage or deterioration and extend the life of the asphalt, it needs to be repaired, sealed, and maintained by a professional pavement management company with a proven track record of delivering results that save their commercial, industrial, retail, office, and corporate clients time, money, and frustration.”

Sure-Seal Pavement Maintenance Inc. is a 20-year-old pavement maintenance contractor that services commercial, industrial, retail, office, and corporate property owners and managers throughout the Ontario region. The company provides both new construction and repair of asphalt pavement surfaces, including parking lots and roadways. With its headquarters in Brampton and an operations facility in Toronto, Sure-Seal Pavement Maintenance Inc. serves the Greater Toronto Area, including Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon, Barrie, Markham, Newmarket, Aurora, Oakville, Burlington, Milton Richmond Hill, Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, and Oshawa.
