Havana Business Improvement District, Comitis Crisis Center and Safeway Team up to Feed the Homeless by Shopping in Aurora

The Havana Business Improvement District’s 4th Annual Grocery Cart Races to benefit Aurora’s Comitis Crisis Center targets a record $20,000 in fundraising.

Aurora, CO (PRWEB) January 16, 2014

On Tuesday, January 28, 2014, the Havana Business Improvement District (BID) dba On Havana Street, in partnership with Safeway, brings silliness and philanthropy to shopping in Aurora with its Fourth Annual Grocery Cart Races to benefit the Comitis Crisis Center in Aurora, Colorado.

The Comitis Crisis Center, a program of Mile High Behavioral Healthcare, provides food, shelter and programs for homeless families, Veterans and youth. Last year’s event generated $15,000, which was enough groceries to feed the Center’s residents through September. This year’s goal is $20,000, which would stock the shelves for the entirety of 2014. Each year, Comitis serves over 19,000 meals to the homeless.

“This annual event,” said Gayle Jetchick, Executive Director of the Havana BID, “answers the question, ‘How can I walk around an Aurora grocery store in a funny costume, fill my decorated cart with groceries, pay no taxes and not get arrested?”

Teams of four raise money to pay their grocery bills, create themes and names, decorate grocery carts and find items on the grocery store shelves from the Center’s “food pantry wish list.” Teams have less than ten minutes to collect as many items as they can before checking out.

Many local, regional and national businesses and organizations partner with community leaders to make this event a success. Havana BID participating businesses include Suss Buick/GMC, 1st Bank and The Summit Steakhouse.

The event is hosted by Aurora grocery store Safeway at 1677 South Havana Street, Aurora, Colorado, 80014. It occurs Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at 7:00 PM.

Jetchick triumphantly advised that, due to the 35-team roster filling up more quickly than ever before, team registration is now closed but added, "People can always help Comitis help our community by contributing at ColoradoGives.org."

"We have neighbors in our community with kids, hopes and aspirations, but without a home in which to put them all," said James Gillespie, spokesman for Comitis. "The Cart Races provide food for our homeless and an opportunity for people to make a difference in the lives of our otherwise ‘unseen’ neighbors."

Krupka explained that hiring and supporting independent insurance agents at the community level is how the company plans to achieve localized customer experience in 2014.

The company spokesman stressed that Mountain Insurance Brokers empowers customers with dozens of insurance products to choose from to ensure that they receive the right products at the best rates available.

"If you live in Aurora, you should be able to have a Aurora Insurance Agent,” Krupka stressed, before adding, “Mountain Insurance wants to be sure that no matter what area of Denver you live in, there will be a mountain insurance broker available to help you.”

The company spokesman went on to point out that for more than 16 years Mountain Insurance Brokers have provided individuals, businesses and organizations in Denver with the highest quality insurance products and services available.

Online Men's Fashion Store Features the Latest Designer Line

Denver, CO (PRWEB) January 17, 2014

Clothing Connection Online, the Web-based store offering the latest men's fashions at generous discounts, is announcing the new addition of Tony Blake Clothing to its fine selection of quality clothing at bargain prices. Tony Blake Clothing is a newcomer to the industry that has already established themselves as a brand worthy of attention for their commitment to quality materials and workmanship. Despite the fact that they are a new line for CCO, they have already been getting rave reviews attesting to the quality, craftsmanship and stylish appeal of this designer's jackets, two and three-piece suits and formal-wear.

Clothing Connection Online has been extremely happy with this new line of menswear from Tony Blake. “This line offers exceptional quality and features at affordable pricing,” says a company spokesperson. High-end features are the hallmark of the Tony Blake line; these outfits offer lined pants and jackets, jacket piping and facing and premium fabrics that are usually available only much more expensive products. "We're providing a fashion forward option at a great value that we are able to pass on to our customers," the spokesperson adds. Although Tony Blake offerings are limited at this point, CCO anticipates offering a greatly expanded selection for spring.

Of course, all of this is in addition to the already generous discounts that CCO is able to offer to its loyal customers. Best Debt Consolidation Loans rank the best credit card debt consolidation loan companies for debt ridden residents of Illinois.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) January 19, 2014

The goal of BestDebtConsolidationLoans.org is to provide consumers with an unbiased review of the options available to help them achieve debt relief and avoid scammers.

In accordance with this, the company has done an independent review of the various credit consolidation loan programs available to debt-ridden consumers in the state of Illinois. It is now announcing the three debt consolidation loan companies that scored highest in its rankings. They are National Debt Relief, CuraDebt and American Debt Enders.

The people in Illinois get into debt trouble from time to time. Some of this is caused by the general state of the economy and specifically Illinois' unemployment rate. As of November 2013, it was 8.7%, which made it the 48th worst among all 50 states behind only Nevada, Michigan and Rhode Island. Illinois' three largest cites, Chicago, Aurora and Rockford have been even harder hit. This is especially true of Rockford where the unemployment rate is 12.6%, meaning that nearly one out of every eight workers in Rockford is unemployed. The city of Aurora fares better with an unemployment rate of 8.4% but Chicago's remains high at a dismal 10.09% making it the 74th worst city in the US for unemployment.

Illinois’ total workforce as of November of last year was 6,523,200 meaning that there were approximately 567,000 unemployed workers at that time.

To make matters even worse, Illinois residents have an average credit card debt of $5,266, which is substantially higher than the national average of $4879 per borrower. On a brighter note, Illinois residents have an average credit score of 726, which is a bit better than the U.S median credit score of 723 and better than the average FICO credit score of 689. It’s median household income is $51,730 and 69.7% of its residents own their homes.

When you couple high unemployment rate and high credit card debt with poor personal financial mismanagement it becomes clear why the people of Illinois are having a problem with debt. Dealing with big debt can be very serious. And getting out of it can be difficult. Debt Consolidation Loans assures consumers that there are, in fact, ethical and trustworthy companies that can help them become debt free.

The Best Debt Consolidation Loans personnel who reviewed credit consolidation loan companies in Illinois considered six different factors in selecting the top three companies. They were customer service, its fees, debt solution options, consumer satisfaction, business ethics and financial standing.

The reviewers awarded the top spot to National Debt Relief. It came out on top due to its high consumer satisfaction and reasonable costs. The company works with consumers who have more than $7500 in debts and provides them with custom-tailored credit consolidation programs. One of the chief reasons why National Debt Relief is such a trusted company is because it has maintained an A rating with the Better Business Bureau for many years. National Debt Relief is also a very ethical company in that it does not charge a cancellation fee, which makes the company very appealing to first-time consumers who are almost always very satisfied with the debt relief services they receive. For that matter, National Debt Relief charges consumers no fees until it has satisfactorily settled their debts and provided them with a payment plan they approve.

BestDebtConsolidationLoans.org awarded second place to CuraDebt. This company provides its services to consumers with more than $10,000 in credit card obligations. The company has strong working relationships with the credit card companies and is able to get consumers the results it promises. CuraDebt offers flexible credit card consolidation programs that go beyond debt reduction. In addition to dealing with credit card debt, it can also help with student loans, tax debts and defaulted loans.

Third place went to American Debt Enders. This company has been in business since 2007 and is known for providing debt relief to consumers who have more than $5000 in debt. The company's well-trained debt experts can handle almost all types of credit problems. Even those consumers who need help in improving their credit scores can get it from American Debt Enders.

Disney on Ice is melting the hearts of millions of families across the country once again this year based on top trending ticket sales, said Felina Martinez at BuyAnySeat.com. Three productions are currently on tour in North America including 100 Years of Magic set for Brooklyn, Princesses and Heroes in Indianapolis and Passport to Adventure in Rochester - all opening Wednesday January 22, 2014.

Denver, Colorado (PRWEB) January 20, 2014

Disney On Ice first hit the rink in 1981. The whole idea was to combine spectacular skating with theatrical staging to bring the music and the magic of the many Disney classics to life.

Today, after over three decades, the franchise has continued to grow in both popularity and productions, as over eight shows are now on tour around the world at any given time. Currently, on the North American continent, three productions are at play.

The first, Disney On Ice: 100 Years of Magic, has 153 performances on the slate and wraps at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey today. The cast then moves to the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York from January 22 – 26, 2014.

Next, shows are set for the Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, New Jersey from January 29 through February 2; Baltimore Arena in Baltimore, Maryland from February 5 – 9; and Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. from February 12 – 17, 2014.

Disney On Ice: Princesses and Heroes, with 92 performances on the schedule, just closed at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire on January 19 and opens at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse Indianapolis, Indiana from January 22 – 26, 2014.

Passport to Adventure has 55 dates on tap. The cast wraps at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania today, then travels to the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, New York from January 22 – 26, 2014.

“All three Disney On Ice productions are trending at the top of ticket sales,” said Felina Martinez at online ticket marketplace BuyAnySeat.com.

“That’s why we’re proud to be able to offer fans and their families a complete and continuously updated inventory of Disney On Ice tickets, with a worry-free guarantee to protect their purchase,” said Martinez.

“To access the complete selection Disney On Ice tickets we now have available, customers can go to BuyAnySeat.com and search for Disney On Ice – then select the production they want to see and find their tickets.”

Disney On Ice is a series of touring ice shows that are produced by Feld Entertainment in agreement with The Walt Disney Company. Typically, new shows debut and play in North America for two years and then head on to Japan for the third year, and Australia, England, and other parts of the world for the fourth year. Beyond that, shows such as 100 Years of Magic normally return to the Americas for the fifth year, then trek around the globe and back in succeeding years. (Source: wikipedia.org)

The shows are known for their combination of expert skating and choreography. Dressed as classic Disney characters, professional skaters glide around famous fairytale sets and perform polished routines along familiar story lines. Plus, it all takes place to the upbeat tempo of Disney’s popular tunes, which often spurs audiences of all ages to stand up and start singing and dancing along.

First known as The Magical World of Disney on Ice, 100 Years of Magic opened in September of 1999; and it has been updated in 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2010 to include characters from Finding Nemo, Lilo & Stitch and The Incredibles. Choreographed by Sarah Kawahara, the production now features over 65 Disney characters.

Princess Wishes: Princesses and Heroes began in September of 2006 and portrays abbreviated versions of popular Disney stories, including Snow White, The Prince, Belle, The Beast, Jasmine, Aladdin, Cinderella, Prince Charming, Princess Aurora, Prince Phillip, Ariel, Prince Eric, Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, Tiana and Prince Naveen.

Tinker Bell and Mickey Mouse serve as presenters for the show, which features lighting and laser effects, as well as pyrotechnics, with a dragon breathing fire on the ice during the Sleeping Beauty sequence.

Passport to Adventure, formerly called Mickey & Minnie's Magical Journey, is the longest-running show on tour. After opening in October of 1995 as World on Ice: 3-D, the show was updated in 2001, 2003, 2007 and 2008 and tells the story of Mickey and Minnie on an adventure that takes Under the Sea, to Hawaii, Never Land and Africa.
