Patton Electronics—the US manufacturer of SmartNode VoIP equipment—has named 888VoIP—the industry leading VoIP hardware distributor—as “U.S. Partner of the Year” for 2013.
The successful partnership between 888VoIP and Patton began in 2008, when the two joined forces to develop Patton’s VoIP Gateway business in the Unites States. At that time, Patton’s SmartNode Gateway was an established market leader in Europe, but had yet to break in to the U.S. market—despite being manufactured in the United States and renowned for its quality and free customer support.
In the subsequent five years, 888VoIP has capitalized on its relationships with other best-of-breed partners and used its product and marketing expertise to increase SmartNode sales by 50% each year. Normally the Aurora borealis can only be seen in parts of northwest Canada and Alaska, but the giant solar flare that erupted on Tuesday could bring the breathtaking beauty of the northern lights as far south as Colorado Thursday night. 
A solar flare from the sun that was headed to Earth hit today around 3 p.m. EST, arriving weaker than expected.
